Chantilly-Tiffany

Chantilly-TiffanyThe Chantilly-Tiffany (also known simply as Chantilly or Foreign Longhair) was derived through the outcrossing of Asians and Birmese cats. Primarily well-liked for their rich chocolate brown coat, Chantilly-Tiffany cats have a semi-foreign body build and a full, medium-long coat that is smooth, silky and soft to the touch. Due to continuous outcrossing, the breed has developed a more diverse color palette like blue, black, fawn, cinnamon, and lilac.  Their patterns have also gone forward with mackerel, agouti or ticked, and other spotted tabby designs being some of their inborn traits. Chantilly cats have a striking appearance brought by their broad, modified wedge-shaped head, softly squared muzzle, medium-length nose, plumed tails, and well-defined whisker pads. Their captivating eyes are oval-shaped and can come from deep yellow to rich amber in color. Considered to be a late bloomer, this adorable cat has been observed to mature slowly, often not coming into complete stature until they reach two years old.

Temperament
Chantilly-Tiffany cats blend a wholesome, balanced dose of gentleness with energy. Because of their ability to remain still for long periods of time, contently lounging in their owner’s lap, the breed is considered to be one of the most ideal traveling companions. In addition, they are not fearful or skittish and can stay calm and unruffled. Chantilly cats can form close bonds very well with their human friends, showering them with lots of love and attention. Regarded as docile and loyal, this breed loves to snuggle and follow people around the house in an undemanding way. Though Chantilly cats can be rather reserved with strangers, they are still one of those great household companions which can get along well with children and other pets.

Grooming
Chantilly-Tiffany cats have a low-maintenance coat. In fact, weekly brushing would already be sufficient to keep their fur mat-free. The breed sheds very little, and would only require enough attention in ear cleaning in order to prevent wax from building up in their full-haired ears.

Health Concerns
Chantilly cats are considered to be among the healthiest cat breeds. Nevertheless, it has been reported that this adorable breed is prone to various digestive problems. To keep their health in check, avoidance of corn products and feeding a regular, predictable diet are highly recommended.

Best Environment
Chantilly cats thrive in any home given that their owners love them and are committed enough to take care of them very well. Just keep them indoors to safeguard your Chantilly pet from various outside perils like car accidents, communicable cat diseases and attacks from other animals.
