Your kitty cat’s natural tendency is to hunt for his food. If you think about how your kitty cat would eat if he were on his own, it is quite different from the average housecat food station. We make it super easy for our felines to help themselves to din din, but is that really the what he wants? Smelling his way to a meal, ripping and tearing and digging for food are all natural tendencies we might unknowingly be denying our kitties.
FELINE FORAGING FOOD PRODUCTS CAN HELP
One of the best websites I have found when it comes to feline food foraging is Food Puzzles for Cats. This site has a variety of products that you can purchase at your local pet store or even on Amazon. Among the cat products I love most are, the Mad Scientist and Slide and Feed by Trixie Pet. Both of these products offer your kitty the stimulation she craves during her meal time.

DIY FELINE FORAGING PRODUCTS ARE GREAT WAYS TO ENHANCE YOUR CAT’S MEALTIME EXPERIENCE
Foraging by definition means to search widely for food. A typical home can mimic things into the great outdoors that is more pleasing to your feline with a couple simple products. In fact, there are several DIY foraging food supplies that you can implement today with common household items. For example, cutting a few holes in an empty water bottle with the lid on can be an excellent food dispenser for your feline.
One of my favorite things to do for my tuxedo cat Finnegan is to hide his treats all throughout the house. Even simply putting a few treats on a shelf and up on the window sill or his cat condo can motivate him to jump and hunt. He absolutely loves it! His most favorite place to find snacks are in shoes. Yes, drop a few treats in your shoes and let him dig them out. Cats love shoes and his treats in there get him to dig them out. A double pleasing activity!
