Hilarious Police Department “Feline Unit” April Fool’s Prank

Salina, Utah Police Chief Eric Pratt had a bit of downtime and decided to play the ultimate April Fool’s prank on a carload of unsuspecting ‘victims.’ With about half an hour to spare, Pratt drove home and picked up his cat, Froo Froo, to help with a traffic stop.

When he clocked a car traveling at 91 in an 80mph zone, Pratt pulled them over and put “Officer Froo Froo” from the “Feline Unit” to work. Pratt told the driver, “If we hear three meows in a row, we will know there’s an issue,” and proceeded to carry “Officer Froo Froo” around the perimeter of the car.

The result is a hilarious video captured on his body camera.

The full video was posted to the Salina City Police Department’s Facebook page, and said:

Before anyone gets too carried away (there’s always a few), no tax payer dollars were spent in relation to this video. The few minutes of fuel will be paid for by me, I’m a salaried employee and this is on my own time, and last but not least, my sweet cat Froo Froo was not injured during this incident. The stop was legitimate (speeding), and my decision to give a warning was legitimate (I regularly warn for 11 over, which is what the stop was for). Smile people, it’s April Fool’s Day!
