An unknown person has been killing and mutilating cats in and around the Houston neighborhoods of Timbergrove and Lazybrook. This year alone, at least a dozen cats have been killed. Since 2008, 25 cases have been reported. And killing these cats is bad enough, but the creep is also mutilating them.
The most recent case happened last week when Chris and Kimberly Elliott woke up to find the front half of their beloved cat, Moe on their porch and the other half missing. Until this happened, they were unaware there was a cat killer on the loose.
Jennifer Estopinal has been working with police for a year and is convinced another animal did not do the killings.
“I’ve seen many of these pets remains firsthand and I’m thoroughly convinced it’s the work of a human” she said. “I’m amazed at how many people still have no clue what’s going on”
In fact, Kimberly Elliott says, “I can only speak for myself and my husband, but we had NO IDEA this was going on, otherwise our animals would have FOR SURE been kept inside at night…”
A Facebook page has been set up to help spread awareness to the community and help catch the criminal. Since the serial cat killer has made the news, reward money has been pouring in, totally nearly $25,000. Crime Stoppers is offering $9690, The Oak Forest Veterinary Clinic has donated $2500 and Kimberly Elliott’s dad has pitched in $2000. Another one of the victims has offered a $10,000 reward via Craigslist for information leading to the arrest of the cat killer.
The Craigslist ad says:
You give me the info, the guy gets arrested and goes to jail. You’re $10,000 richer. Someone knows who this psychopath is. And, to the monster who committed this abomination: What goes around comes around.
