Saying Goodbye: Pence Family Cat Passes Away

While the news never stops in Washington, a little bit of sad news happened at home for Vice President Pence and his family, too. They had to say goodbye to their beloved cat, Oreo last week.

Second lady Karen Pence tweeted photos of the black and white 13-year-old cat, saying, “Rest in peace Oreo. You touched a lot of hearts in your little life. Our family will miss you very much.”

Oreo, along with another cat, Pickles, and a bunny named Marlon Bundo moved with the family to the vice president’s residence at the Naval Observatory after the election.

I love cats too. My most sincere condolences on the loss of your family member.

Just when this dog-eat-dog world has handed you all the poop you can take, it's time to walk the dog. Or wash the dog. Or feed the dog. You get the idea. So welcome to the world of easy-to-care-for cats. Entertainment comes bundled in a furry, huggable, self-cleaning cat who won't beg for your food. In his eyes, you don't eat well enough anyway. Just keep a laser pen handy, sit back and wait for the fun to begin! Cats...ya gotta love 'em.
