Shooting Victim: My Cat Saved My Life!

Police in Council Bluffs, Nebraska, are looking for information on a man who barged into a woman’s home yesterday evening and shot her.

The victim, Sally Huffman, was at home alone with her cat Smokey when a man knocked on the door asking for “Antoine”. When she said she didn’t know anyone by that name, he barged into her home and pointed his gun at her chest.

That’s when Smokey ran across the room and distracted him. The man lowered his gun and shot Huffman in the leg and then took off.

Huffman believes her cat very well may have saved her life!

Police are asking anyone with information connected to the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at (712) 328-STOP. The suspect is described as a Black Male, 30 to 40 years of age, aproximately 5’8″ to 6′ with a medium build, medium length black hair and clean shaven. Suspect also had a chipped front tooth. Suspect was wearing a white t-shirt, kahki shorts and black tennis shoes.
