Prom is, perhaps, the most important night of a young man’s life. So when 18-year-old Sam Steingard’s High School Prom came and he didn’t have a date – he had the purrfect backup plan…his cat, Ruby.
Sam’s sister Caroline, of Washington D.C., shared his story on Imgur along with a photo of him with his ‘date’, complete with a fancy prom dress:
Sam didn’t take Ruby to the actual dance, for fear that she would end up getting hurt or lost, but they did dress her up in a beautiful gown and posed for photos taken by Sam’s father, photographer Bryan Steingard. After posting the photo on Imgur, it quickly spread, having been viewed now almost a million times!
