If you’ve been anywhere near the internet lately, you’ve seen someone doing the Mannequin Challenge. But just in case you’ve missed it, it’s a viral Internet video trend where people remain frozen in action like mannequins while a video is recorded. It is believed that the phenomenon was started by students in Jacksonville, Florida on October 12, 2016. The initial posting has inspired works by other groups, from sports teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants to celebs like Ellen DeGeneres and the cast of Saturday Night Live have made their own Mannequin Challenge videos. Even First Lady Michelle Obama froze for the Mannequin Challenge together with LeBron James and the rest of the Cleveland Cavaliers during their visit to the White House recently.
But no one is better equipped for a ‘sport’ that involves staring blankly and not moving for minutes at a time than our beloved cats. Am I right?! This Persian cat is killing it! Even those silly costumes don’t phase him. Check it out.
