Shelter Cat Gets a Job – Then Gets Adopted!

Champas, a scruffy white tom cat, waited for over 400 days at the shelter. You see, he is a shy boy and kept to himself, hiding in the shadows in his temporary home at Animal Welfare League NSW in Australia. But, the staff there had a plan…

They decided to give Champas a job! They knew he had a great purr-sonality and he just needed a chance to show it. So, they made him a receptionist at the front desk.

While “working,” Champas was able to meet and greet everyone coming into the shelter, while still getting his own space. Meanwhile, to bring attention to him, the staff had Champas pose with little handwritten signs that said things like, ‘single white male looking for love’ and ‘Office cat with impeccable credentials!’

Guess what? The plan worked! Not long after Champas took his new position up front, he was adopted by a man named Nathan. Here’s hoping Nathan has a home office for Champas to lounge around in!
