How would you describe your perfect wedding guest? Would he be barely paying attention, covered in fur, and occasionally licking himself?
Cat-loving Montreal couple, Dominic Husson and Louise Véronneau are animal lovers. So when they were choosing the location for their wedding, they decided Cat House on the Kings, a no-cage, no-kill California cat sanctuary, would be purr-fect! The couple held their ceremony this week in front of about 1,100 furry little wedding guests.
“We are animal lovers, the two of us, and we wanted to make this our special day,” the bride told CBS 47. “We wanted to make it close to our own values.”
Cat House on the Kings has been home to 24,000 cats and 7,000 over the past 24 years. Husson and Veronneau are the first couple to get married at the sanctuary. Getting married at a rescue is not entirely unheard of, though. In the summer of 2014, “Cat Daddy” Jackson Galaxy married his wife at the Best Friends Animal Society no-kill pet sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.
