Recommended

Monday, in Batavia, New York, a man was arrested after firefighters responding to an apartment fire found a dead cat in his oven. They responded to Darren R. Annovi’s apartment about 9 p.m. after a smoke alarm was activated. The apartment was full of smoke. The cause? A deceased cat they found in the oven.

Police charged 42-year-old Darren Annovi with aggravated cruelty to animals, believing that the cat was alive before it was placed in the oven. He is being held in the Genesee County Jail without bail and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.
