New Website Connects Non-Profits to Animal Lovers that Support Them

LoveAnimals.org, an innovative nonprofit crowdfunding site focused solely on supporting animal projects, today announced that Halo, Purely for Pets, Ellen DeGeneres’ natural pet food company, has become the site’s founding sponsor.

Crowdfunding has changed the way people support the causes and projects they care about. Now, it’s easy to donate to non-profit efforts, help launch commercial inventions, back artists and more.

LoveAnimals.org has leveraged this new technology to create the largest global crowdfunding platform just for animal projects. Groups or individuals can easily create a fundraising project for a 501c3 organization that helps animals, both domestic pets and wildlife. And, people looking for worthy projects to back can search for an effort that strikes a chord with them. Donations range from $2 to thousands of dollars.

Remember Schoep, the dog whose owner would float him to sleep in Lake Superior? Or Daniel, the polydactyl cat, raising money to save his animal shelter? What about the blind man who couldn’t afford to keep the service dog who saved him from falling onto the subway tracks?  These stories tugged at the public’s heartstrings yet many people didn’t know what they could do to help. Now, LoveAnimals.org provides a way for people to support causes they care about with small or large donations.

Many groups have already seen success on LoveAnimals.org. A feline rescue has raised $4,500 to enable them to care for 75 kittens. A service dog organization has raised $16,000 to rehab a service dog injured in a car accident. A humane society has raised $600 for a family who can’t afford to treat their dog’s fast-growing tumor. These are just a few examples of the important projects that generous people across the nation are making a reality through LoveAnimals.org.

David Yaskulka, Halo’s VP of marketing communications says, “We recognized the potential for LoveAnimals.org to be a game changer for animals because of its focus, innovative technology and the team’s passion for the work they do. We’re proud to support an effort that has such wide scale impact for animals and the people who care about them.”

Halo’s sponsorship will help LoveAnimals.org promote the platform to a wider audience of both nonprofits and donors. In addition, it will enable LoveAnimals.org to provide support to the organizations using the technology to help animals.

“We are thrilled to partner with Halo,” said LoveAnimals.org CEO, Sarah Timms. “Halo is known for its unrelenting support of animals in need and we know that, together, we can connect with the organizations that need funding and the people who are looking for purposeful projects to support.”

Halo also sponsors the PBS series, “Shelter Me,” and donates more than five times the national corporate average through the Halo Pet Foundation, which sponsors national adoption campaigns with the Humane Society of the United States, ASPCA and more.

Betsy Saul, LoveAnimals.org Board member and founder of Petfinder.com, believes this partnership will have great impact on the organization’s success. “LoveAnimals.org is truly poised to become a major force in animal welfare. Halo has a reputation for sponsoring important causes in meaningful ways, so it’s exciting to see these two compassionate organizations come together to help animals.”

The nonprofit uses innovative technology to increase donations to animal welfare and wildlife conservation groups, which currently receive only 2 percent of all giving.  At LoveAnimals.org: Nonprofits can easily showcase their projects most in need of funding; Animal Lovers can run crowdfunding campaigns to support their favorite causes or raise money for veterinary care of pets; Donors can have a fun and interactive giving experience where they can choose from a wide array of projects and control how their donations are spent.  At LoveAnimals.org, donors can take a few minutes, give a few dollars and have a big impact for animals.  LoveAnimals.org is free to use. It takes no percentage of donations raised through the platform, which means more money directly helps animals.
