We love our cats, even though sometimes they get ‘under our skin.’ Well, now, you can show your love of cats by literally having yours permanently put under your skin!
Traditionally tattoos have been, among many other things, a way to show bonds that stand the test of time embraced by everyone from lovers, to family members, to military units and motorcycle clubs. And cat tattoos (widely referred to as cattoos) have been increasing in popularity over the last several years.
With science creating breakthroughs everywhere, forward-thinking tattoo ink company SKIN46 is producing the world’s first tattoo ink from human or pet bio-material. What exactly does that mean?
You can now get tattoos made out of your furry friend’s DNA.
Model Makani Terror was one of the first people in the world to test out this revolutionary new tech, and got an enormous tattoo of her cat, Gizmo, on her leg using ink made out of Gizmo’s fur:
Terror got tattooed last year by artist Roman Abrego at Artistic Element Tattoo in Yucaipa, California, but the photos are starting to make their rounds on Instagram. The images have raised a lot of obvious questions, like “She did what!?” and, “Is this safe?”
According to SKIN46,
“SKIN46 ink is in line with the Tattoo Ink Regulation of Switzerland and also meets the recently updated Tattoo Ink Regulation of the European Community (EC), which both are the most strict guidelines for tattoo ink in the world. SKIN46 ink meets the regulations of all major countries where tattooing is popular, including Japan, Australia, Canada and the USA. Additional analysis regarding heavy metals compounds and PAH-contamination (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon) were made and passed.”
