Smoosh, who her owner said usually just sits at the foot of the bed scowling and judging, really got into the Olympic spirit during the beach volleyball match-up between Team USA and China! The 9-year-old Himalayan from Charleston is owned by Russell Powell, who uploaded this video to Instagram:
NBC Olympics liked the video and posted it to their Facebook page, and the rest is internet viral video history… it has since been viewed more than 2 million times.
Smoosh, it seems, is particular about what sports she will watch. In an interview with The Post and Courier, Powell said,
I had the TV on earlier, and it was swimming. She’s not as interested in swimming.
We’re anxiously awaiting the next match to see if Smoosh is still enthusiastic. Go Team USA!
