VIDEO: Halloween Came Early for the Animals at Big Cat Rescue!

Halloween came a few days early for some of the lions, tigers, and leopards at Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida.

Just like the little ‘panthers’ that live with us, big cats are curious and require mental stimulation, too. So, treating them to holiday surprises is part of an ongoing enrichment program by the staff at Tampa’s Big Cat Rescue.  In the video, you can see the rescue’s lack leopard, Jinx, tigers Andre and Arthur, lioness Nikita, and tigress Kali enjoying their pumpkins filled with chicken and cardboard haunted houses (proving that every cat – big or small – loves a cardboard box!)

Big Cat Rescue is home to about 70 big cats, including lions, tigers, leopards, cougars, bobcats and more.

Just when this dog-eat-dog world has handed you all the poop you can take, it's time to walk the dog. Or wash the dog. Or feed the dog. You get the idea. So welcome to the world of easy-to-care-for cats. Entertainment comes bundled in a furry, huggable, self-cleaning cat who won't beg for your food. In his eyes, you don't eat well enough anyway. Just keep a laser pen handy, sit back and wait for the fun to begin! Cats...ya gotta love 'em.
