Play was stopped during the second quarter of the game when the black cat appeared near midfield during the Giants’ drive. While security did attempt to catch the cat in vain, it eventually made it’s way out through a tunnel.
Stadium security believes the black feline may be part of a group of strays that lives under the bleachers. They intend to search for the cat and have him checked out by a vet.
Asked building security about the black cat on the field: Apparently there are some resident stray cats at MetLife— they usually come out after the game, people feed them, etc. They live in the bleachers, I’m told this one must have gotten startled out by fan noise #journalism

Believe it or not, it’s fairly common for cats to interrupt sporting events! Check out these other games where cats made an unexpected appearance.
