Charlotte, North Carolina – Angel Olavarria and his family wanted to celebrate a very important milestone for their beloved senior cat, Luna. For her 15th birthday, she got her very own Quinceañera!

In case you aren’t familiar, in Latin America and among Latinos, a Quinceañera is a celebration of a girl’s fifteenth birthday and typically her transition from childhood to adulthood. It’s a ‘coming of age’ celebration, and one of the most important, extravagant parties in latin culture! And since cats are part of the family, it’s no wonder that the Olavarria’s wanted to throw Luna a Quinceañera for her 15th birthday, too!

This was no ordinary party with cake and balloons, either. Luna wore a fancy custom pink gown and tiara. She had her favorite tuna treats and traditional tres leches dessert. There were tons of pink decorations to match her dress. On the day of the party, twelve guests showed up to help celebrate.
What happens now? Well the family is planning her Sweet 16 for next year, of course!
