Hero Cat Foils Attempted Burglary

Strider, a black cat in Olympia, Washington, has earned himself a reputation for being fat and lazy and a bit of a pain in the rump, according to his humans Barb and Kerry Gansberg. They gifted the cat to their daughters ten years ago. While the Gansbergs seem a bit disinterested in their feline companion, they have a newfound respect for Strider, who is being hailed as an unlikely hero.

You see, Strider isn’t allowed in the Gansberg’s bedroom, but, earlier this week, he broke the rules when Barb was home alone and wandered into the forbidden zone. Thinking something must be wrong, Barb ran out and found two burglars in her house, with her purse in hand. They saw her and took off. Strider had saved the day! “I didn’t know he had it in him,” Barb said.
