How did one cat manage to shut down New York City for 10 minutes? According to the New York Post, a kitty risked one of his nine lives and jumped onto the tracks of the No. 7 subway line in Times Square on Sunday morning – effectively stopping the train until he could be rescued and brought to safety.
NYCT Subway Tweeted:
#ServiceAlert: b/d no 7 trains b/t 34 St and Times Sq due to a cat on the tracks at Times Sq. Allow additional travel time.

The cat leaped into the tracks around 10:30 a.m. Transit workers halted trains on the line for about 10 minutes while an employee picked it up and got it out of harm’s way. Thanks to the NYC transit authority for saving the cat!
